Team HPO had a great opening weekend on the arizona antelope season! We were able to get 2 B&C bucks on the ground opening weekend in Unit 10. When you get your tag next year make sure you hire HPO so that you can have opportunities like Jeff and Brandon had.

California native Marc Bernardi decided to hunt with team HPO for his unit 8 archery hunt. Marc put in the work and was able to put his first archery tag on this bull on day 5. Congrats Marc!!!

Congrats to George Johnson on a great archery kill! Guides Ben Sandal and Rob Gerlak worked hard to get both brothers Clay and George opportunities on their archery hunt. Great job guys!!!

Father and son Bruce and Cole drew 6A archery bull tags and after talking to team HPO decided to book after learning of the experience that we have. HPO guide Lester Finney gave these guys a hunt to never forget. Cole filled his tag first with Bruce following up not too far behind. Congrats to Cole and Bruce. Thanks for choosing HPO!

The late Kaibab hunt was a ton of fun this year. We located some great bucks by using our G30 stealth cameras. Here are the best 2 that we captured on our scouting trips.

Once our hunter Ryan saw some pictures of this great buck he decided this was his buck. After sitting water day and night he finally got a chance and hammered this great Kaibab buck. It just goes to show that you don't have to hunt the famous strip to kill a 200" buck! Thanks for trusting HPO with you hunt Ryan!

HPO's camp cook and long time friend Bob Downing was very lucky this year and pulled 1 of the 3 coveted unit 22 sheep tags. Of course when we heard this at least one of us would be on this hunt with him. Kevin got the chance and they had a very memorable hunt! Since Bob lives in the valley every excuse he had he made the trip to scout. He saw many great rams and when it came time to hunt the weather changed. After getting 2 inches of rain they went out on the boat and found this ram.

After looking at this ram for several minutes Bob decided that this was worth his tag. Bob made a great shot at just over 280 yards and best of all it was all caught on film. Bob's ram was nicknamed scar face and was taped out at 175 7/8. Congratulations Bob on a great desert sheep. Kaibab Deer Season - 2012

The 2012 Kaibab deer season started off quick for Derek.  He wanted to put his tag on a good 4 point on this hunt.  He was just 10 years old when he put a tag on his last mule deer.  Opening morning HPO guides found a buck that looked good.  When the buck got up in front of Derek at 250 yards he decided it was the one. It was the biggest body buck that was taken on the hunt and scored 160" as a 3x4.  What a great buck Derek, well done and good shooting!

Rick was the next one to connect on the second morning.After seeing a great 30" wide buck that got to the top of the ridge before getting him down we were sitting down watching a promising aspen patch below us.We heard a buck scraping the aspens just 100 yards below us but we couldn't see the buck.We slipped off the ridge, and when this buck came running out Rick decided that was his buck.He made a quick shot on the run and put this buck down.A nice 168" buck was tagged by Rick.Well done!

Scott and Nick Walton a father son team were ready to harvest there bucks on day three.  Nick took his biggest buck to date with a nice 160" 4 x 4.  While driving back to camp Nick from the back seat of the truck saw a good buck rutting some does off the side of the road in a burn.  After looking him over Scott decided the buck was the buck he came to the Kaibab for and took one shot and put him down.  What a great buck to finish off the hunt!  The buck has 3 1/2 eye guards and scores 183" with two small extras and is just 24" wide.  What a great buck Scott.   His best buck to date!

  Here are three of the four bucks together for a picture.  Derek had already taken off and headed home.  What a great three days on the Kaibab.  Thanks guys for choosing HPO as your Outfitter of choice.  We will do it again sometime real soon!  Keep putting in for those tags!  All of the hunters harvested their best bucks of their lives, not bad for a hot dry year on the Kaibab.

Arizona draw results are almost here!  Credit cards are starting to get charged for both Elk and Antelope tags.  If you get a tag call us right away before we book up.  Once AG&F post the results they can be accessed at the following link:

We have been out collecting sheds and looking at animals that made it through the fall hunts and the winter.  Things are looking real good.  Take a look at some of the sheds we picked up over the past two weeks. 

All picked up in a 4 hour time frame!  Probably never happen again.

Steve just sent me some pictures of his 92 2/8 antelope from last year.  This is the biggest antelope that I have ever had my hands on.  A true giant.  I thought would want to see some pictures of his mount.   The pictures show off the animal much better than the field pictures.

The velvet is coming off the bulls and they are getting ready for the rut.  HPO goes into the field this week to start our rifle antelope hunts.  We have plenty of great bucks and bulls located this year.  We can hardly wait to get the hunts started.  If you call us to book a hunt be patient this time of year as we are in the field non-stop.  Stay tuned for pictures as our HPO hunters start to put some trophy's on the ground!
